ProMinent sponsors swimmer Sarah Wellbrock
Sarah Wellbrock is a freestyle star. The young swimmer continually sets new records in her main discipline. Her ambition and determination are impressive. Having won gold at the 2019 World Championships in South Korea, she claimed a bronze medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games – and set a new German record in the 1500 metre freestyle with a time of 15:45.83.
ProMinent supports young local talent, so the exceptional swimmer Sarah Wellbrock (née Köhler) was an obvious choice. After all, she shares ProMinent’s passion for water. The young athlete is powering her way to titles and setting records the world over.
In summer 2021, she secured bronze in the 1500 metre freestyle at the Tokyo Olympic Games – Germany’s first medal in pool swimming for 13 years. In South Korea in 2019, she was the runner-up in the 1500 metre freestyle – a distance over which she also holds the German long course record. At the German Short Course Championships held in Berlin in November 2019, she propelled herself to new dimensions in the 1500 metre freestyle by setting a world record with a time of 15:18.01 over the longest pool distance.
Born in Frankfurt, Sarah Wellbrock moved to Heidelberg in 2012 to study law and made use of the facilities at the Olympic Training Centre while here. She has been training in Magdeburg since late 2018. But the 23-time German champion has remained loyal to her home club SG Frankfurt.
In water, she’s in her element
Sarah Wellbrock trains for hours every day. When you spend that amount of time in the pool, you really appreciate good water quality. ProMinent develops innovative water treatment solutions for swimming pools. It’s difficult to imagine a better basis for a sponsorship partnership. As a complete provider of treatment technology, ProMinent is more than happy to take on this responsible task and Sarah Wellbrock appreciates the results.
