Pumps are often used for heavy-duty applications. To ensure a long service life, they should have as few parts as possible that come into contact with the media they convey, and those that do should be highly robust. ProMinent’s diaphragm metering pumps have a sophisticated drive technology that makes them particularly durable.
The gamma/ X and gamma/ XL models feature an intelligent solenoid drive. The advantage: there are hardly any moving parts, which minimises wear. These pumps recognise pressure and air in the dosing head without any wetted pressure sensor and therefore meter extremely accurately. They also offer a large adjustment range and a continuous metering stroke. The controlled solenoid drive measures the back pressure, protects the system from overloading and ensures consistent metering irrespective of pressure. This eliminates the need for failure-prone external pressure sensors, which increases operational dependability: no further parts come into contact with the feed chemical, there are no additional sealing surfaces and no electronic components near the chemical.
The reliable sigma technology is used for higher feed rates. The aluminium/plastic housing offers mechanical strength and resistance to harsh conditions such as aggressive media (e.g. acids) in one pump. All standard pumps are equipped with a PVDF liquid end. The multi-layer diaphragm provides additional safety.
The drive is designed for a long service life, and maintenance is generally only required in the dosing head. The multi-layer safety diaphragm ensures that wear on the diaphragm is reliably recognised and any pending maintenance is indicated. In addition, metering does not have to be interrupted in the event of wear and the pump can continue to operate without leakage until maintenance personnel arrive.
Digitally connected
The flexible digital interface allows the integration of the metering pump into almost any industrial network. The diaphragm metering pumps enable simple monitoring, analysis and optimisation of metering processes. This minimises operating errors, downtimes and the consumption of raw materials. Integrated PROFIBUS, CANopen and other standard factory automation interfaces are available for connection to process control systems. The pumps can also be connected to the ProMinent DULCONNEX web-based IIoT platform for digital fluid management.
