The right way to disinfect
Disinfecting swimming pool water usually involves setting a chlorine concentration of 0.4 - 0.6 mg/l in the pool water. Calcium hypochlorite and sodium hypochlorite (sodium-calcium hypochlorite) are usually the products of choice. The latter is very often used in smaller pools as the use of storage tanks and chemical costs are easy to manage. Electrolysis systems are particularly an attractive alternative for safe disinfection: by producing the disinfectant on-site, the systems remove the need to store and handle dangerous chemicals. The minimal use of chemicals also ensures environmentally-sound operation and reduced operating costs.
